At Allbirds, we constantly ask whether there is a better way. Whenever we can, we find new uses for the materials that naturally exist right in front of us, rather than relying on synthetics.
We are restless, curious, and by no means perfect. The path to making footwear in a better way is a long one, and we’re just getting started. Here are a few of our proudest moments so far.
ZQ-Certified Merino Wool
Our merino wool is ZQ-certified, which means it meets stringent standards of sustainable farming and animal welfare. In other words, no sheep were harmed in the making of these shoes.
textile & insoles
Our merino has a carbon footprint that is 60% smaller than typical synthetic materials used in shoes; and castor beans are an incredibly sustainable source for the green polyurethane used in our insoles.
Our patent pending shipping shoebox uses 40% less materials than traditional shoe packaging.
We’re on our way to becoming a certified B Corporation, meaning we meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
We’re committed to giving our used shoes new life and helping communities in need thrive in the process.
